Case Study for OPRL

PROJECT CASE STUDY - OPRL

With recycling being such a hot topic, Spark have been working with Government Agency OPRL on an innovative augmented reality enabled smart phone app.  Working alongside OPRL's partners, including major UK retailers such as M&S, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Morrison's, John Lewis, Shell, Reckitt Benckiser, Costa, Coca-Cola, Lucozade, Asda and PCRRG, Spark Lab are providing consumers with a simple solution to help increase recycling across the UK.

Using active food packaging recognition and component packaging detection the application assists consumers in determining the best way to recycle packaging. Users simply scan a product, coffee cup or packaging to receive full details on how and where to recycle it and via a gamification initiative receive benefits for doing so.

The App is truly born from necessity & Spark's ingenuity to deliver one of the most advanced packaging recycling tools for consumers globally has seen this brought to life. The move was started back in 2016 and set to release in early 2019 to combat plastic pollution in both landfill and the greater natural world and oceans. Spark are privileged to have worked on this pioneering project.
